Description |
Lets mobile-phone users use multiple phone numbers for a single phone or International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI). Networks identify calls made and received by any of the particular numbers associated with that phone or IMSI.
The application allocates a primary number to the phone or IMSI, plus one or more secondary numbers. The network identifies a "sub-number" by a code appended to the dialed number, from which it sets the calling-party number. Network elements then get phone numbers from a multi-number database, which they use to generate CDRs. Charging can be pre- or post-paid. Sub-numbers can be saved, appended to the primary number in the address book, and can be auto-appended according to rules set up on the handset.
