Audience and Scope

Intended Audience

This document is for developers installing and getting started using the SDK version of Rhino 2.3.1. This document assumes a basic knowledge of core concepts about Rhino and JAIN SLEE (see Rhino Overview and Concepts).

This document provides a basic overview of the steps needed to install and run the SDK version of Rhino 2.3.1. (For the production version, see Rhino (Production) Getting Started Guide.)

For more information, including Administration & Deployment see the main Rhino Documentation page. For troubleshooting and other topics, see the How-to Guides and Knowledgebase on OpenCloud's Developer Portal.

The SDK version of Rhino SLEE is intended to support development of prototype and proof-of-concept services, and evaluation of Rhino. It runs in a single Java VirtualMachine and does not provide all of the fault-tolerance capabilities of a production Rhino installation. A software development license that allows the use of production Rhino for development can be purchased from OpenCloud.
