About the Scenario Simulator

Overview

The OpenCloud Scenario Simulator is a testing tool which simulates network traffic — for testing network elements and services. It simplifies the implementation of test cases, by using a simple declarative model. You define test cases as scenario definitions, which describe the end-to-end message flows for the Scenario Simulator to simulate.

The Scenario Simulator package includes the Scenario Editor, used for creating scenario definitions in a GUI.

The latest version of Scenario Simulator is 2.2 — check out What's new in this release.

The Scenario Simulator package is available from the DevPortal Download Space.

Supported protocols

Scenario Packs add support for network protocols to the Scenario Simulator and Scenario Editor.

The following Scenario Packs are available:

  • IN Scenario Pack
  • SIP Scenario Pack
  • Diameter Scenario Pack

All three packs are packaged with the Scenario Simulator download. You can also download the Scenario Packs separately from the DevPortal Download Space.

IN Scenario Pack - CGIN Compatibility

The IN Scenario Pack bundled with the Scenario Simulator product is compatible with CGIN 1.5.x only.

For CGIN versions 1.4 and earlier, please use the Scenario Simulator that is bundled with that CGIN version. Check the CGIN documentation for your version of CGIN for more information.
