This document provides instructions for using the Visual Service Architect (VSA), a Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tool you can use to build and deploy SLEE services.

  • Installing VSA — procedures for choosing and installing the correct version of VSA for your OS and Java JVM
  • Managing live SLEE deployments with VSA — using the SLEE Management API to remotely manage the deployment of a service, downloading services from a remote SLEE, and changing and updating the deployment with local changes

Audience and Scope

Intended Audience

This document is for service developers who intend to use the VSA GUI for creating, deploying, managing, and maintaining service deployments on Rhino SLEE.

This document assumes a knowledge of the concepts explained in Rhino Overview and Concepts.


This document covers procedures for installing and using the Visual Service Architect (VSA) GUI.
